An analogy to vehicle insurance is appropriate here: you cannot be in an accident today, take out a vehicle insurance policy tomorrow and expect coverage!
Similarly, you should have opted for Legal Insurance before your legal problem occurred.

A monthly premium of N$ 309 adds up to N$ 3,708.00 per year. A private lawyer will cost around N$ 3,500 for a 30-minute consultation! You will also be charged for each call, letter, etc. and a lot of money to battle it out in Court! With our policy’s low monthly premium, you can call your Legal Hero any time with no extra charge.
A Contested Divorce occurs when the spouses cannot agree on the divorce’s consequences and need to battle it out in court. This divorce takes longer to finalise, and can become very costly.
An Uncontested Divorce occurs when the spouses can agree on the divorce’s consequences and set them out in a settlement agreement for a quicker uncontested/unopposed divorce.

We require a fully completed and signed Legal Hero application form, a copy of your Namibian ID and a Bank Confirmation Letter. We do not keep marriage certificates and other personal information on file during the capturing stage, but we may request them from you should your spouse request legal assistance at a later stage. Legal Hero might also request a child’s birth certificate where the surnames do not match.
Example: Mid-week Public Holiday
- If your selected debit order date falls on a Public Holiday, and the day before the Public Holiday is a working day, the debit order will be processed on the day preceding the Public Holiday.
Example: Long Weekends
- If your selected debit order date falls on a Public Holiday and the day preceding the Public Holiday is a Sunday, the debit order will be processed on the working day (Monday to Friday) preceding the Public Holiday. This means that the debit order will not be processed on the Saturday or Sunday preceding the Public Holiday, but on the Friday.
- If the preceding Friday is also a Public Holiday, the debit order will be processed on the Thursday preceding the long weekend.
This calculation methodology for ENDO debit orders applies to any selected debit order date.
Member Troubleshooting:

- Submit your complaint and ID/policy number in writing, including as much information about your dissatisfaction as possible. This includes the staff member(s) involved, your case or product details, supporting documents, and the dates/times relevant to your dissatisfaction. Your dissatisfaction must be clearly stated so that Legal Hero can investigate diligently.

- You will receive confirmation that your complaint has been received, the name of the person dealing with your complaint and confirmation that the relevant assigned staff member will contact you telephonically within two (2) working days.
- You may escalate the matter internally and change the person dealing with your complaint if he/she did not attend to your complaint as per the 3/7/14-day diary period (to receive feedback/assistance) mentioned above. Follow the same steps as per point 2 and advise that you wish to escalate the matter.
Step one
Should the Policyholder feel dissatisfied with how Legal Hero has dealt with a complaint, the Policyholder may escalate a complaint to Legal Hero’s underwriting insurer, Momentum Insurance, and make a representation within ninety (90) days, using the following contact details:

The insurer then has forty-five (45) days after receiving timely representation by the Policyholder to notify the Policyholder of the final decision after reviewing the representation.
Step two
Should the Policyholder be dissatisfied with the insurer’s decision, the Policyholder may institute a complaint with the insurance regulator, whose contact details are as follows:

The policyholder acknowledges that NAMFISA has its own complaints resolution procedures and timeframes, which are outside the control of Legal Hero and its underwriting insurer, Momentum Insurance. The policyholder further agrees not to hold Legal Hero or Momentum Insurance liable for any damages whilst NAMFISA investigates or decides upon a matter raised under their policy guidelines.
Step three
Should the Policyholder choose not to take action within one hundred and eighty (180) days, the Policyholder will forfeit the claim and Legal Hero and/or the insurer will have no further liability regarding the claim.
- If you are beyond your first 30 days of joining and wish to cancel your policy, please inform us in writing by emailing [email protected].
Important to take note of:- If the email address you use to request the cancellation is the same as the one registered on our system, it qualifies as a valid written cancellation.
- If the email is sent from a different email address than the one registered on our system, we would need the principal policyholder’s approval and signature.
- Spouses are prohibited from cancelling the policy on behalf of the principal policyholder (their spouse) without authorisation. For example, you cannot send an email requesting to cancel your policy from a general internet café mailbox. In such cases, we ask that the correct document be printed, completed, and signed: Additional information in the cancellation form that one can print out, fill in, and sign must be done in writing.
- According to the Legal Hero policy wording, the policyholder understands that he/she may cancel the policy in writing by way of thirty (30) days’ written notice. If the policyholder’s next premium deduction date is less than thirty (30) days away, there will be one further and final policy premium deduction.
- If the policyholder has their premium deducted directly from their salary, he/she can cancel the authorisation at their HR/Finance Department.
- The policyholder further understands and agrees that cancelling the policy will result in them forfeiting their benefits under the policy, potentially exposing them to excessive legal costs for civil, criminal, family, or labour-related matters.

Our Debt Hero benefit is designed for individuals struggling with debt management and is available on Gold and Platinum policies. Debt Hero services are valuable for consumers looking to improve their financial situation. We can assist you with drawing a credit report from a reputable credit bureau, explaining listings, drawing up repayment plans with creditors, and general budgeting.
We offer cover for both contested and uncontested divorces. This is dependent on the type of policy selected. Our Gold policy only covers uncontested divorces, whereas our Platinum policy covers both contested and uncontested divorces.

This benefit is only available on the Hero Platinum and Hero Corporate policies.

Exclusive to the Hero Corporate and Hero Platinum policies, the Family Protection Plan offers extended coverage for dependents after the policyholder’s passing. It’s ideal for individuals with families who want to ensure ongoing legal support for their loved ones even after they’re gone. Your dependents stay covered for advice and out-of-court help for the remainder of the policy period after your passing at no cost.
Although the policy may run continuously, we calculate the benefits over twelve (12) months. Therefore, should the principal policyholder pass seven (7) months into any twelve (12)-month period, the family remains protected, at no cost, for the remaining five (5) months.
