Our Story

Legal Hero Insurance (Pty) Ltd (“LH Namibia”) is a Namibian company established to act as the underwriting manager within the legal insurance industry. It operates as a cell captive insurer under Momentum Short Term Insurance Ltd (“Insurer”), with license number 15/ST/29 issued by the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (“NAMFISA”).

The vision is to create, promote, and service premium yet affordable legal products that assist Namibians who otherwise would not be able to afford legal assistance.

The Namibian company has connections to its South African counterpart, Legal Hero (Pty) Ltd (“LH South Africa”), with whom it shares a common shareholder. LH South Africa has been providing quality legal insurance since 2014, and LH Namibia leverages these systems and resources focused on the legal insurance industry.

LH Namibia was founded in 2024 by two proud Namibian directors and is led by the passionate CEO, Mr John D’Alton, who holds an LLB degree, cum laude.

Determined to leave this world a better place, Legal Hero endeavours to not only provide quality legal assistance at an affordable monthly premium, but also to empower the policyholder when it comes to legal education, because when it comes to your rights, there should be no grey area.

Legal Hero specialises in criminal, labour, civil and family law. Life’s legal villains are frightening and come in all shapes and sizes, such as unfair employers, untrustworthy sellers, and nasty divorces.
